Like Clementine, Gracie's owner had died. She was left in a stall knee-deep in manure. When we got her to the brand new ranch, she ran. Her tail was solid in knots and she was untouchable. As time went by, her rocket fire kicks and biting self-protect mode began to disappear. She was angry when she came. But love won out and she has become a safe, reliable, and sweet mare. Although at the bottom of the pecking order in her herd, with people she is confident, playful and is known for her sassy head toss. But she wouldn't hurt a fly. Her beauty is deep. Her spirit is full. And she is at peace. Her drastic change reminds me of what is possible for us in Christ: "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed and progressively changed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
