He had a wonderful life. His girl loved him, he had a beautiful home, and then she went away to college. Dad was a very busy man and Chance loved food. When combined, it was no surprise that he somehow got into the feed bin. He almost ate himself to death. Horses can't vomit so they had to pump his stomach to save him. Chance was not a "rescue" like some of the other horses, but God rescued him from death, just the same. The consequences to his bad choice was that he foundered. His feet are tender the rest of his life. He can easily overeat sweet things and go right back to being sick and not rideable. We can do the same. We can have everything, know everything one minute, and make a bad choice that affects us the rest of our life, the next. We named him Second Chance because he has one here. He needs our help to not make bad choices and brace against our leadership too. Just like we need God's, because we do that too.
"God, my God, I yelled for help and you put me together. God, you pulled me out of the grave, gave me another chance at life when I was down-and- out" Psalm 30: 2-3
