lakota's story

tennessee walker/hackeny pony
13 years old

Goldigger and her "Surprise" baby were too much for a couple who had a motorcycle ministry and were not home a lot. "Surprise", born on Memorial day, was just a few months old when he came to the ranch with his mama. Within just a few months, his mama was flirting with the geldings on the other side of the fence, kicked out at them, and struck the baby in his jaw, shattering one side. The entire winter we changed diaper dressings and fought infection as pieces of bone made their way out. It was the hand of God that he survived. Volunteers came out of the woodwork to help with the care. Today, this sweet little palomino is a beloved session horse. Although he can't open his mouth very wide, he is thriving.

"Oh Lord, my God, I cried to you for help , and you have healed me." Ps 30:2
